Confira numeração do Botafogo

MatériaMais Notícias

A lista é inicial.

1 – Saulo
2 – Emerson Silva
3 – Carli
4 – Jonas
5 – Airton
6 – Victor Luís

AVFC: Villans see Smith Rowe bid rejected

Aston Villa have had an offer of around £25m rejected by Arsenal for midfielder Emile Smith Rowe.

The Lowdown: Previous links

Villa, who have already sealed a club-record deal for Emiliano Buendia this summer, were first credited with an interest in Smith Rowe back at the start of the month.

The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath was the man who shared the news, claiming Villa hold an interest while a new deal with the Gunners is yet to be finalised.

It seems as if Villa have now firmed up their interest with an official bid, however, they haven’t been successful in their opening offer.

The Latest: Ornstein update

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Villa have had a bid of £25m knocked back by Arsenal, who are working to extend his Emirates stay.

Smith Rowe’s current contract in north London is worth £20,000-a-week and runs until 2023.

Ornstein posted the news on Twitter, saying:

“Exclusive: Arsenal reject bid of around £25m from Aston Villa for midfielder Emile Smith Rowe. #AFC working to renew 20yo’s contract — which ends in 2023 — & have no interest in selling. #AVFC pursuit underlines their ambition this summer”

The Verdict: Should Villa go back in with another bid?

Smith Rowe was described as ‘exceptional’ by Mikel Arteta earlier this year, but it could now make sense to look elsewhere after their big-money bid was turned down.

Villa have already spent big on Buendia and will pursue a deal for Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse in what could be a huge fee, so alternative attacking midfield options may now be a shrewd call.

One player linked with a move to Villa Park, West Brom’s Matheus Pereira, is reportedly available for £15m, so that could be a cheaper deal Villa may decide to pursue going forward.

He scored more league goals (11) than Smith Rowe (2) and registered more assists (6) than the Arsenal man (4) last season. The Brazilian is also just 25 years of age, so could he be the missing piece in Dean Smith’s attacking jigsaw instead of Smith Rowe?

Defiant Blues hold on for draw

A defiant NSW put a dent in Western Australia’s ambition of making the Pura Cup final by digging in for a thrilling draw at the WACA Ground today.

Tom Wald18-Feb-2002A defiant NSW put a dent in Western Australia’s ambition of making the Pura Cup final by digging in for a thrilling draw at the WACA Ground today. The Blues were outplayed for the entire match but the pesky duo of Mark Higgs and Nathan Bracken (8) survived 56 minutes to help foil the Warriors’ plans.Bracken fell in the third last over leg before to Brad Hogg (1-49) but Higgs (18no) and Stuart Clark (0no) were able to negotiate the final 14 balls.Hogg thought he had Higgs with the third last ball which just scraped over the off stump. The result left the Warriors in third place on the Pura Cup table on 18 points. Queensland leads with 28 then South Australia has 20 with fourth-placed Tasmania(16) and Victoria (12) currently battling it out at the MCG.NSW finished 9-311, some 95 runs short of its victory target, but remained anchored to the bottom of the standings, and winless in the four-day game sinceNovember.A three-hour plus stand between Michael Bevan (72) and Michael Clarke (81) earlier looked like leading the Blues to safety but three wickets in eight balls around tea turned the game WA’s way.Part-time bowler Marcus North (1-30) had Bevan caught on the long on boundary by Hogg after the left-hander strained his hamstring running a second in theprevious over. And Clarke fell lbw to Kade Harvey (2-36) in the next over but not before he’d reinforced his position as one of the hottest prospects in Australian cricket with an effortless display.Team officials didn’t expect Bevan’s hamstring strain to be a problem ahead of Sunday’s ING Cup final against Queensland at the Gabba.Brett Van Deinsen (0), who is carrying a back injury, lasted just four balls after the interval before Harvey trapped him in front for his second wicket.Shane Lee (28) and Graeme Rummans (12) both fell chasing quick runs after it became a tempting option with 151 needed off 23 overs and five wickets in hand.Don Nash made an entertaining 24 before Brad Williams (3-78) had him caught behind for his third scalp of the innings. But after losing the eighth wicket the Blues dug in for the draw. The Warriors earlier looked like running through the Blues line-up with openers Grant Lambert (11) and wicketkeeper-batsman Brad Haddin (41) back in thepavilion within the opening hour.Haddin threw away an enterprising start by continuing to sky the ball through cover and was caught by Chris Rogers to hand Jo Angel (2-74) his 400th first-class wicket for Western Australia.

Ten Hag can end Spurs manager nightmare

Erik ten Hag is back in the frame for the vacant Tottenham Hotspur job for the third time…

What’s the word?

That’s according to ESPN, who claim that the North London outfit are back at square one in their tumultuous managerial search after deciding to not appoint Gennaro Gattuso following backlash from supporters.

Spurs pulled out of a move to hire Paulo Fonseca when the former AC Milan midfielder became available, having left Fiorentina after just 23 days.

It’s now thought that the club will reassess potential candidates, which the Ajax supremo is thought to still feature despite signing a contract extension at the Eredivise champions and being linked twice before.

Time to end it

After so many twists and turns in the space of just two months, it is now surely time for chairman Daniel Levy to put an end to the Spurs managerial circus.

Jose Mourinho was sacked in mid-April and since then, it seems as if the Premier League side have missed out on over a handful of top targets.

It all started with Julian Nagelsmann, who opted for Bayern Munich, and then Brendan Rodgers, Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte and now the aforementioned two former Serie A coaches.

Ten Hag is one name that has remained constant in their search, so the Lilywhites hierarchy must look to turn their interest into something legitimate now.

Since day one, he’s been one of the clear and obvious fits for the club. Levy was said to be after an attack-minded boss who could develop the club’s young stars. More or less another Pochettino.

And that’s exactly what the 51-year-old has done at Ajax.

Over in Holland, he’s amassed an impressive 74% win rate over 167 matches in charge by playing an expansive and exciting system that has been created through inspiration from Man City’s Pep Guardiola and Johan Cruyff.

Furthermore, that includes a whopping 2.34 points and 2.71 goals per game.

Progressing talents like Mattiajs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong have seen the Ajax earn lucrative profits, and that’s all down to the Dutchman not only trusting them to start but also his “remarkable” ability to develop youngsters.

As such, Ten Hag has been lauded as “one of the most exciting coaching talents in world football” by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, whilst football.london reporter Alasdair Gold claimed he would be “another Pochettino.”

“Everything I’m hearing about Ten Hag is that Spurs see him as very much similar to Pochettino in the sense he’s a players’ coach and can improve what they have got and bring them on,” he said during a live Periscope. “He’s excellent with younger players. “I wouldn’t discount him if Spurs can’t get Pochettino, he’s seen as another Pochettino.”

Given the lack of options out there, Levy must turn to the Dutchman to finally end this nightmare. He cannot afford to risk this disaster rumbling on into pre-season, which is due to start next month.

Palmer: Hamza Choudhury to Southampton a possibility - Exclusive

Former Southampton midfielder Carlton Palmer can see Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury moving to St. Mary’s this summer, but only at the right price.

According to Football Insider, Newcastle United are working to sign the 23-year-old, who is set to fall down the pecking order at the King Power due to the incoming arrival of Boubakary Soumare.

However, the same outlet reports that Southampton are also interested in securing Choudhury’s signature, and Palmer believes a deal is certainly a possibility if finances allow.

When asked by FFC if he could see the midfielder joining the Saints in this transfer window, the retired England international said:

“It’s a question whether he will fit into the way Southampton play and will he fit into the mould, the way that Ralph Hasenhuttl wants to play – and that’s as simple as it is.

“If that player does, he fits in and comes at the right money, then it works.”

Choudhury is the sort of player who could add some real bite to Southampton’s midfield.

He has been praised for his ability to win the ball back, with Derby County assistant manager Liam Rosenior once comparing him to Manchester City’s Fernandinho. And not being a regular at Leicester, you would expect the Saints to be able to get him for a reasonable fee.

Pratto é registrado e poderá estrear no Morumbi contra o Mirassol

Ben Hollioake’s death at the age of 24 robs Surrey and England of an all-rounder who was showing signs of doing fuller justice to his enormous potential

</tableBen Hollioake's death at the age of 24 robs Surrey and England of an all-rounder who was showing signs of doing fuller justice to his enormous potential.Hollioake was marked out as a potential superstar at the age of just 19, when he scored a rapid 63 for England against Australia in the third ODI in 1997. He followed this with 98 in his next match at Lord's, the B&H final, which won him the Man of the Match award. It came as no surprise when he was voted Young Cricketer of the Year by the Cricket Writers' Club.Such was the impression made upon the England selectors that Ben, along with brother Adam, was included in the England team for the fifth Test against Australia at Nottingham in 1997. It was the only time two brothers made their Test debuts together in the 20th century. At 19, Ben was the youngest England debutant since Brian Close in 1949.Such exciting potential took time to develop, and by the start of the 2001 season Hollioake had still only played in two Tests and seven ODIs. He was recalled for the NatWest Triangular Tournament against Pakistan and Australia, and although he ended the series wicketless, he impressed with the bat on two occasions. He made an unbeaten 37 against Australia at Bristol, contributing to a rapid end-of-innings stand of 70 with Owais Shah, and a mature 53 in an otherwise forgettable England batting performance against Pakistan at Headingley. He went on the short tour of Zimbabwe last October, and played in the one-day series in India in the New Year. After that, a knee injury kept him out of the New Zealand series.Hollioake's exploits for Surrey will leave saddening, but heart-warming memories for many supporters. On hearing of his death, one remembered three sixes in an afternoon at The Oval, one of which broke tiles on the roof of the Apollo pub over the road. Hollioake opening the bowling with Alex Tudor, pitching full of length and swinging the ball both ways. Hollioake in partnership with Ali Brown, the two outdoing each other with drives. Hollioake diving at point, just failing to take a catch scarcely five yards from the batsman after covering twice the distance to attempt it. And last summer, practicing with his brother during a rain break, and thinking, yes, he's putting in the work that will make him the best all-rounder in England since Botham.Fleeting glimpses of a tragically shortened career.
