According to a report by Voetbal 24, via City Xtra, manager Pep Guardiola ‘wants to push’ for the signing of Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge this summer as a possible replacement for club legend Fernandinho – prompting excitement from a set of Manchester City fans. 

Berge, who has spent most of this season on the treatment table (Transfermarkt), has still managed to attract Premier League interest from the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham – with the two north London clubs said to be eyeing the promising 23-year-old (Jeunes Footeux).

As per Voetbal 24, City are now weighing up a move and Berge is even top of the Sky Blues’ transfer target list as a successor to their Brazilian enforcer and fan favourite.

The 35-year-old, having signed an extension last season, now looks set to leave this summer as Guardiola looks likely to ‘push’ for Berge as his midfield heir.

Reacting to this news, it’s safe to say many City fans were overjoyed with the idea of Berge’s acquisition despite his absences this season – with one fan calling him a would-be ‘amazing signing’.

An international teammate of long time transfer target Erling Haaland, it appears supporters are now excited by another Norwegian prodigy.

David Moyes should urge David Sullivan to sign Seny Dieng this summer, despite Queens Park Rangers boss Mark Warburton questioning West Ham United’s rumoured interest.

What’s the word?

Via quotes by West London Sport, Rs boss Warburton has dismissed recent speculation linking the Hammers with a potential swoop for Dieng’s services this upcoming off-season.

Reports by The Sun over the weekend had claimed that the Irons are keen to raid the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium for the 26-year-old to land added competition for Lukasz Fabianski.

Dieng has earned a wealth of admirers with his efforts in the Championship this term after finally making his debut in September and going on to keep 10 clean sheets in 37 league fixtures to date.

The 6 ft 4 shot-stopper’s efforts have put Arsenal, Leeds United and Crystal Palace on alert, with a view to potential changes between the sticks at all three Premier League clubs.

West Ham are now the latest side touted as a potential destination and it was thought that the Irons would have to pay £6m due to Dieng being under contract through to 2024, but Warburton has suggested it would take a much higher offer to tempt his side into selling.

“If you wanted to do something, would you go and put it in the papers? Where does this come from? Where do these figures come from?” he said.  “I’m sure David Moyes and West Ham would go about their business in a far more professional manner if they had an interest in the player.

“And the bigger picture; if any player leaves, it will be for QPR’s valuation. Everyone’s got a price. The best player [in] the world has a price if you’re prepared to pay it. If any player leaves QPR, it will be if the board deem it to be good value for the club.”

Should West Ham sign QPR’s Dieng?

QPR will certainly be in a strong position to hold out for a sizable fee for Dieng’s services at the end of the season, given his contract, the level of interest and the Senegal international establishing himself as one of the Championship’s best goalkeepers.

But that should not stop Moyes from urging Sullivan to seal a deal for the 26-year-old, as he would be expected to push Fabianski to his limits next season and rival the Poland international – who turns 36 on Sunday – for the number one jersey at the London Stadium.

Warburton could only laud the “outstanding” Dieng earlier in the campaign after edging his way ahead of two “excellent” options in Liam Kelly and Joe Lumley, and noted: “He is still young and his best years are ahead of him.

“There is no doubt Seny has all the attributes to go to the very highest level. That is not said loosely because that position is so important, but he has so many qualities.”

Qualities that Moyes would no doubt adore having at West Ham amid his alleged search for depth, with the sought-after Dieng currently ranking fourth among all Championship shot-stoppers for total saves made with 106 over his 31 games, per SofaScore.

Dieng further ranks first for saves made from shots taken inside the penalty area (74), has conceded 37 times from shots taken inside the box, claimed possession in the air the fourth-most times (26) and punched the ball away the sixth-most times (13).

Fabianski has made 85 saves over his 29 Premier League appearances this term, of which 44 have come from strikes taken inside the box to 31 goals conceded from shots in the area.

Moyes may not expect Dieng to instantly oust Fabianski for the position if West Ham can tempt QPR into selling, but the second-tier star could be a solid option to keep him on his toes with a view to eventually taking over.

ونشر الحساب الرسمي لنادي برشلونة عبر موقع التواصل الاجتماعي “تويتر” وكتب: “لقد خضع بالدي لاختبارات طبية في الساعات الماضية”.

وتابع: “أكدت الفحوصات إصابة بالدي في كاحله الأيمن وسيتم تقييم حالته في الأيام المقبلة”.

Rangers have been linked with both Jerry Yates and Jonson Clarke-Harris in recent weeks, but which of the two would be the best addition to Steven Gerrard’s side at Ibrox this summer?

Jerry Yates

According to The 72, Rangers have joined the race to sign the Blackpool forward this summer, with Nottingham Forest, Bristol City and Blackburn Rovers having all previously registered an interest in the 24-year-old during the January transfer window.

Since joining from Rotherham United last summer, the 24-year-old has established himself as a key player in Neil Critchley’s side and has been one of the most prolific forwards in the division so far this season, with 18 goals in 38 league appearances.

Yates has enjoyed decent loan spells with Carlisle United and Swindon Town in recent seasons but struggled to make the grade at Rotherham in the Championship, with just five goals in 52 appearances there.

Jonson Clarke-Harris

According to Football Insider, Rangers have been scouting Clarke-Harris this season and were in attendance for Peterborough’s 7-0 demolition of Accrington Stanley recently, with the in-form striker notching a hat-trick.

The 26-year-old frontman has since taken his tally to 27 league goals in 40 appearances ahead of the weekend’s derby clash against Northampton, and he looks well on track to earn the top scorer award in England’s third tier this season.

Clarke-Harris is more than just a goalscorer, though, and has earned many plaudits for his build-up play with Peterborough this season, with Kevin Phillips praising his “phenomenal” campaign whilst also suggesting that he can offer something Alfredo Morelos doesn’t due to his aerial threat.

Who would be better?

As can be seen in the graphic above, Clarke-Harris has clearly had the edge over Yates this season and would be much more of an aerial threat in Gerrard’s side than the Blackpool man, as he wins significantly more aerial duels per game.

With both Blackpool and Peterborough looking strong contenders for promotion to the Championship this season, Rangers may have to wait until the end of the campaign before deciding between the two transfer targets from a financial perspective, as promotion would surely see the respective clubs raise their asking price for their star attackers.

However, from a purely footballing perspective, Clarke-Harris looks to have the edge over Yates and would likely offer something different in Gerrard’s side, so Ross Wilson should focus first and foremost on bringing the Peterborough man to Ibrox this summer.

وأعلن الاتحاد النيجيري لكرة القدم رسميًا على استمرار، أوجوستين إيجوافوين، في قيادة النسور الخضراء مع جهاز فني كامل يتضمنه أسطورة الزمالك، إيمانويل أمونيكي، للتحضير لمواجهة غانا في نهاية مارس المقبل.

وكان الاتحاد النيجيري قد أصدر بيانا قبل بطولة كأس أمم إفريقيا 2021 وأكد على أن بيسيرو سيقود المنتخب الأول بعد انتهاء المسابقة التي أقيمت في الكاميرون، ولكن حدث تغيير.

وأصدر بيسيرو بيانًا رسميًا على حسابه بموقع التواصل الاجتماعي “تويتر”، وكتب: “بعد عدة أسابيع من المفاوضات، خرجت خلالها عدة أنباء من الاتحاد النيجيري لكرة القدم، مفادها أنني سأكون مدربا لمنتخبهم الوطني بعد انتهاء كأس أمم إفريقيا 2021”.

وأتم: “كانت حقيقة ولكني لم أؤكدها أبدًا، لأننا لم نصل لاتفاق وكانت هناك خلافات حول بنود العقد وكذلك المطالب المادية”.

In an exclusive interview with Football FanCast, Wolves Hall of Famer, Steve Bull has revealed that one of the lowest points of his career was when Wolves lost in the play-offs to Bolton Wanderers in 1995.

Bull is Wolves’ all-time top scorer having netted 306 times in 561 appearances, but never quite achieved his dream of playing in the top flight with his former side, losing out in the play-offs twice.

Wolves reached the play-offs in 1995 where they were beaten over two legs in the semi-finals by Bolton Wanderers 3-2 on aggregate, and they were beaten for the second time in 1997 against Crystal Palace, once again in the semi-finals as they were beaten 4-3 by the Eagles.

Speaking on one of the saddest moments of his life and how that Wolves team could not have done any more, Bull told FFC:

“People always ask me what is one of those saddest times of my career and it was against Bolton in the play-offs, because I thought we had come so close, yet so far.

Bull scored the first goal against Bolton which set up Wolves for a 2-1 first-leg victory at Molineux, however a 2-0 defeat in the second leg after extra time knocked them out.

That season, Bull finished the season as Wolves’ top scorer with 16 goals as they finished fourth, just one point behind Bolton.
