وعلق عضو اللجنة الفنية باتحاد جنوب إفريقيا، جاك مالوليك، على تلك الأنباء في تصريحات نقلتها شبكة “New24” في بلده، وقال: “لقد قرأت الكثير من التقارير حول سفرنا إلى مصر للقاء بيتسو، لكنها أنباء غير صحيحة”.
وأضاف في النهاية: “لكننا نرحب بكل الأسماء المطروحة التي قٌدمت إلينا وكشف عنها الإعلام في الأيام الماضية”.
الجدير بالذكر أن منتخب جنوب إفريقيا قد رحل عنه المدرب السابق، موليفي نتسيكي، بعد فشل الصعود إلى نهائي كأس أمم إفريقيا 2021.

According to The Sun, Manchester United are “making checks” on Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips ahead of their plans for next season.
What’s the word?
Phillips has come through the Leeds academy to feature for the first-team, and has become an integral part of Marcelo Bielsa’s side. The 23-year-old has featured in every single Championship game this season for the Whites, helping them to third place in English football’s second division.
Now, The Sun report Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s assistant Mike Phelan went to take a closer look at Phillips in action when Leeds took on Birmingham City last week, before coach Kieran McKenna watched the Yorkshire club’s clash against Preston.

And so whilst Bielsa’s men may currently be plying their trade in the Championship, it would be a bitter blow indeed if the Red Devils could pull off the signing of Phillips. When the Manchester side snared Robin van Persie away from Arsenal, it marked a real watershed moment in terms of securing the signing of one of their closest rivals’ best players.
Getting Phillips from Leeds could be similarly transformational. United are seemingly keen on bringing in young, promising talent as they look to build a new era under Solskjaer. Signing the 23-year-old could help prove to be that defining moment that the side can be inspired by, as they head into this new chapter of their club’s history.

Loads of Arsenal fans have been reacting on social media after Martin Keown claimed in his column for the Daily Mail that Unai Emery was as much to blame for Granit Xhaka being booed as anyone else.
The former Gunners ace noted that Sunday’s events seen as the North London side drew 2-2 with Crystal Palace was not the first instance of fans booing Xhaka, as jeers rang around the Emirates in September when the 27-year-old was taken off against Aston Villa.
Five days after that Premier League clash Arsenal went on to win without the Switzerland international on the field, Emery named Xhaka as the Gunners’ new captain following Laurent Koscielny’s summer departure.

Xhaka was handed the armband after Emery held a secret ballot among the Arsenal dressing room, in which the former Borussia Monchengladbach man is a hugely popular figure.
Keown has pointed to this as Emery turning up the heat on an already hostile atmosphere for Xhaka, that makes the Spanish tactician as much to blame for supporters reacting angrily on Sunday.
“Emery is as much to blame as anyone,” Keown noted. “If you let the players pick their skipper, then it becomes a popularity contest and that is not what leadership is about.
“I’ve never had a manager who decided the captaincy that way and, for me, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is still the safer bet.”
Young forward Bukayo Saka replaced Xhaka in the 61st-minute on Sunday as Arsenal searched for a go-ahead goal at home to Palace, with fans reacting with jeers that soon turned to boos as the 27-year-old cupped his ear.
Xhaka responded to the boos by appearing to swear at supporters, before throwing the captain’s armband to the floor and storming off down the tunnel.

وأضاف: “لقد كان نصرًا هامًا للجميع، لقد لعبنا بجدية، الآن دعونا نرتاح جيدًا، لأننا سنلعب مرة أخرى يوم السبت”.
وواصل: “لقد كانت مباراة صعبة، تتطلب الكثير، لقد لعبنا بشكل جيد مُنذ البداية، وسجّلنا ثلاثة أهداف في الشوط الأول، ولعبنا مباراة قوية للغاية، وأضفنا ثلاث نقاط مُهمة”.
وعن سبب إراحة بعض اللاعبين في مباراة اليوم: “الأمر ليس لأننا نفكر في مباراة السبت أو الثلاثاء، نفكر في مباراة اليوم، ركزنا عليها، وحصلنا على ثلاث نقاط هامة للغاية، نحن سعداء، وعلينا أنّ نُفكر الآن في مباراة السبت”. شاهد اهداف مباراة ريال مدريد وقادش
وأردف: “اليوم لعبنا بطريقة جيدة للغاية، أعتقد أننا قدمنا أداءً جيدًا للغاية، يُمكننا التأقلم مع خطة 4-3-3 و4-4-2، الأهمية بالنسبة لنا هو تحركات اللاعبين، اليوم دافعنا أيضًا بشكل جيد للغاية، للمباراة الثالثة شباكنا لا تستقبل أهدافًا وهذا أمر هام”.
وأتبع: “نحن نُنافس مُنذ ما يقرب من تسعة أشهر في مُسابقتين ونحن على قيد الحياة في كليهما، اليوم حصلنا على ثلاث نقاط مُهمة للغاية، ولكن لا يزال هُناك طريق طويل لنقطعه”.

وأكمل: “الفضل في الفوز اليوم يعود إلى جميع اللاعبين، في ظل الإصابات التي نُعاني منها، اللاعبون تكيفوا مع النظام والوضع والأمر جيد”.
وعن رأيه في ألفارو أودريوزولا: “أنا سعيد، إنه لاعب في الفريق، وعندما يتعلق الأمر به فقد أدى بشكل جيد، أنا سعيد من أجله ومن أجل هدفه، الأهم أنّ يستمر”.
واختتم تصريحاته رافضًا الحديث عن مسابقة السوبر ليج قائلًا: “نحن لا نتحدث أو نفكر في أي شيء، نحن في موسم مُثير، لا يزال هُناك الكثير، ونحن نُركز فقط على كرة القدم”.

If there is to be one complaint about Leeds United this season it’s that they’ve not put the ball in the net often enough.
Leeds have scored just 19 goals in 15 matches, which is the joint lowest tally of any team in the top 11.
It would be fair to attribute this down to one man as Leeds’ first-choice striker Patrick Bamford has now gone ten games without a goal.

However, the fact of the matter is that the whole team is letting United down in front of goal and they need to start finding more goals from the midfield.
Last season
This time last term Leeds had found the net 26 times in the Championship. However, only six of their goals at this point had come from their traditional strikers as Kemar Roofe had bagged on six occasions, and Bamford was yet to get off the mark.
This meant that they looked towards their midfield for more goals last term and the stats back that up.
After fifteen matches last campaign, United’s midfielders had contributed to 15 of their 26 goals with Mateusz Klich scoring five, Tyler Roberts and Pablo Hernandez scoring three apiece while Ezgjan Alioski bagged two.
Even if you want to classify Roberts as a striker as he did play there at times last season, the Whites’ attackers had only scored nine league goals at this point last term, which is just two more than Eddie Nketiah and Bamford have managed, so the issue may be with goals in the midfield.

Need more from the midfield
It’s really easy to point the finger at a couple of things here, the goals have dried up for Klich as he’s scored just once this term, and Helder Costa has been nowhere near as effective as Hernandez in front of goal – failing to hit the back of the net.
It’s an issue that needs ironing out quickly as failure to score goals may eventually catch up with them.
However, this statistical viewpoint shows that the strikers aren’t necessarily the only ones at fault for Leeds’ striking woes.
Marcelo Bielsa needs to address this quickly either by instilling some confidence in Klich to rediscover his goalscoring touch or by spending more time trying to get Costa back on track.
